Canada House Dublin

Enduring Glamour

Our Dublin office interior for an international air-travel firm revisits jet-age glamour with its sinuous curves and luxurious finishes. So far, so nostalgic – yet our mid-century modern-inspired space is also thoroughly contemporary, thanks to its flexible plan and sustainable footprint, complete with LEED platinum certification.

To future proof the building, we opted for interchangeable room settings and for a delicate balance between open space and closed offices.

Our 6 500 m² office interior includes an abundance of social spaces – an elegantly inviting lobby with a restaurant, a large congress room and a fitness area – as well as the four office floors and an executive floor at the top of the building. We connected all these functions with a variety of spaces designed to further encourage formal and informal interaction between colleagues, external advisors and clients. A stunning spiral staircase ties all the floors together. Throughout, our design features flowing lines that allude to aerodynamic aircraft and encourage movement.

To visually distinguish the functions and enable ease of orientation for employees, we gave all the office floors subtle variations in layout and aesthetics.

We made the main connecting element in the office – literally and metaphorically – the elliptical staircase that ties five diverse floors together and features a streamlined double-curved soffit finished in wengé veneer. A sculptural focal point, our staircase sets the tone for the entire office by creating a luxurious and elegant spatial experience. Lighting enhances the curving lines and adds warmth and movement, as it does throughout the building.

Our staircase channels the prestigious golden age of air travel with a rich materials palette, fluid lines, and mid-century modern references.
