Sculpted Strength
Emerging from a close collaboration between the client and design team, the project represents a pivotal moment in Bahwan Engineering Company’s long-term vision. Conceived as a next-generation workplace, it supports collaboration, enables future growth, and gives architectural expression to BEC’s evolving role within Oman. For Powerhouse Company, the project also marks our first building in the Middle East, extending our work into a new regional context.
Muscat’s mountains and sea inspired an architecture that is both grounded and open, with a strong material identity and generous views.’

Located adjacent to the Grand Mosque, one of Oman’s most iconic civic landmarks, the design draws on Muscat’s natural landscape. The project takes the form of a sculpted stone volume, with high-quality finishes reflecting the texture and tones of Omani rock formations. A prominent north-facing atrium opens the building toward the street, establishing an inviting entrance for staff and visitors.
Echoing the Elements
From pre-concept to detailed design, the design process has been a highly collaborative effort. The result is a high-quality design for our new Head Office building, which will stand out as a landmark along one of Muscat’s main arterial roads.’

Inside, the headquarters is organized around a tall central atrium that draws daylight deep into the building and provides clear orientation across six office levels. The lower floors accommodate welcoming social spaces for staff and visitors, while the upper levels transition into focused work environments designed for clarity and collaboration. Together, these layers create a workplace that supports focus, flow, and a rich daily experience.
By shaping the building as a carved stone volume with a light-filled atrium and a panoramic pavilion, we aimed to honor the character of Oman while introducing a new benchmark for workplace quality.’
