Nicolaï Astrup is the most important Norwegian impressionist. In his work and life he established an intimate relationship to the dramatic landscape of Norway. He went as far as to collect old farmhouses from his region and rebuild them into a collage around his atelier. In our proposal for the new museum for his works, we adopted a similar attitude. The building is composed of a succession of rooms that are distributed along a pedestrian path climbing gently along the mountain from the road to the original house of the artist.
